Multimedia In addition to our more traditional presentations of our research, we have tried to present our work in as many multimedia formats as we can. We have a photo galleriy showing a sample of photos from each season and a video gallery with a few short video clips, as well as information about our documentary Survey on Cyprus. As we continue editing video footage from the 2007 field season we will continue to add more clips to the site and update you on the progress of our sequel to the first documentary. In addition to the photos and video clips, we have started a collection of podcasts about our work and several of our staff members have started blogs. We also have a page that shows several differernt maps of our survey area. Finally, we have an experimental interactive webpage that, using TimeMap, allows you to choose which type of data to represent on the page. We have just started developing a Second Life PKAP archaeology site and it has two components: 1) a PKAP Visitor's center above IUP's Crimson Island. There is a teleport located near the reconstruction of the Parthenon; and 2) IUP's Archaeology Island will be open to the public in March and will include a recreation of our site, as well as the chance to engage in "virtual archaeology." David and Katie have started a PKAP group page on Facebook so we certainly encourage all PKAP members (past and present) who have a facebook account to send us a message and join us there. Joe Patrow, our videographer, has informed us that the sequel to Survey on Cyprus is in the mail. This new version will be available on this website in a series of short video clips dealing with various aspects of the PKAP project. We hope to have these segments available in the next few weeks, so please check back often. |
